Edmonton April Luncheon: Implementing Regional Air Quality Management Frameworks in Red Deer – North Saskatchewan

CPANS is pleased to announce the April Edmonton Luncheon Topic: Implementing Regional Air Quality Management Frameworks in Red Deer – North Saskatchewan.

Presenters: Phoenix Le: Phoenix Le joined Alberta Environment and Parks in 2013 as an Air Technical Coordinator shortly after graduating from the University of British Columbia with a BSc in Environmental Sciences and currently pursuing her MEng in Environmental Engineering from the University of Alberta. Her work includes leading implementation of the Capital Region Air Quality Management Framework and regional fine particulate matter responses in the Capital Region and Red Deer areas which requires collaboration with stakeholders to develop informed management actions, advance investigation, and engage in public outreach.

Fiona Slessor: Fiona Slessor is an environmental engineer currently working with the Planning Branch at Alberta Environment and Parks as the Air Planning Specialist. Her work includes coordinating environmental input into regional plan development and leading the development of regional air quality management frameworks.

Maxwell Mazur: Maxwell Mazur joined Alberta Environment and Parks in 2014. He is the is the Senior Air Quality Specialist for the Red Deer North Saskatchewan region. In his time with the department he has contributed to the understanding and management of fine particulate matter in the region through the Capital Region and Red Deer fine particulate matter responses. This work combines Maxwell’s experience in air quality research (e.g. M.Sc. University of Toronto, Publications with Environment Canada) and interaction with stakeholders to implement and achieve effective air quality management in Alberta.

Time: 11:30 to 1:00 p.m. (registration starts at 11:30)
Cost: $30 – A&WMA Members / $40 – Non-Members / $15 – Students (includes hot lunch & coffee). All prices include GST.
