Calgary October Luncheon – Continuous Open Area Source Monitoring with Open-Path TDL Technology

The next CPANS Calgary Technical Luncheon presentation is Wednesday, October 12th. Please register by end of Friday, October 7th!

Presenter: Kyle MacDonald, Boreal Laser

Kyle MacDonald has worked at Boreal Laser for 2 years and holds the position of VP, Environmental Monitoring. Kyle has both a formal business and technical background. Prior to joining Boreal, Kyle was a Project Manager and an automation & control specialist at Shell Research.

The focus of this presentation will be on the merits of indefinitely collecting and storing path average concentration and meteorological data. Real-world case studies will be provided to shed light on how this technology has been used in different environmental applications to suit the needs of their applicable stakeholders. The goal is for attendees to have a better understanding of the capabilities of open-path remote sensing technologies and also the possibilities available with having a historical data set.

Please register by end of Friday, October 7th for the event, so that we can order the correct number of lunches. Register for this event with Paypal online registration and payment (there is an option for using a credit card, no Paypal account is required).

Non-member cost is $45

(Please note, the credit/debit card machine works slowly, and you are encouraged to register online, OR bring a cash or cheque, OR arrive 30 minutes before the presentation starts, to make sure we are able to register everyone on time). If you register and are not able to attend, please provide 24 hours notice so that we can adjust our numbers with the venue.

We are once again offering our remote webcast option for those who wish to attend the presentation but cannot get to Calgary. This service is offered at $15 per person or $75 for a group. Please let us know if you are interested by the Monday before the presentation so we can plan accordingly.

The presentation will start at 12pm, October 12th at the Ramada Hotel (708 8th Avenue Southwest, Calgary). Food will be served at 11.30am.
