Calgary November Luncheon – Benzene Emissions, Staying in Compliance as Regulations Change

The next CPANS Calgary Technical Luncheon presentation is Wednesday, November 16th. Please register by end of Friday, November 11th!

Presenter: James Holoboff, Process Ecology

James is a Partner and Senior Engineer at Process Ecology; he has worked with companies to report and reduce benzene emissions since the corresponding regulations were first introduced in Canada in 2008.

Companies in Western Canada are required to report benzene emissions from dehydration and refrigeration facilities, and ensure that these emissions are below specified limits. In the last few years, the regulations have been changing and more big changes are around the corner. Also, new technologies are being developed to mitigate benzene emissions in these facilities. The focus of this presentation is to:

• Learn how upcoming changes may impact operators
• Learn what methods and proven technologies are available to reduce benzene emissions, and which are best for also mitigating GHG emissions.

Please register by end of Friday, November 11th for the event, so that we can order the correct number of lunches. Register for this event with Paypal online registration and payment (there is an option for using a credit card, no Paypal account is required).

(Please note, the credit/debit card machine works slowly, and you are encouraged to register online, OR bring a cash or cheque, OR arrive 30 minutes before the presentation starts, to make sure we are able to register everyone on time). If you register and are not able to attend, please provide 24 hours notice so that we can adjust our numbers with the venue.

We are once again offering our remote webcast option for those who wish to attend the presentation but cannot get to Calgary. This service is offered at $15 per person or $75 for a group. Please let us know if you are interested by the Monday before the presentation so we can plan accordingly.

The presentation will start at 12pm, November 16th at the Ramada Hotel (708 8th Avenue Southwest, Calgary). Food will be served at 11.30am.
