Edmonton January Luncheon: Carbon Competitiveness Incentive Regulation

CPANS is pleased to announce the January Edmonton Luncheon Topic: Carbon Competitiveness Incentive Regulation
Introducing Alberta’s New Industrial Carbon Pricing System. On January 1st, Alberta transitioned from the Specified Gas Emitters’ Regulation to a new system to price carbon emissions from larger industrial facilities, as per committed in the Climate Leadership Plan.
Presenter: Heather Carmichael is the Director of the Emissions Policy Unit in the Alberta Climate Change Office. She has worked with the Government of Alberta for almost 10 years on a range of issues including oil sands environmental management, energy efficiency, public transparency and climate change. Heather has been working on climate change mitigation policy since 2013. He work has included supporting the creation of the Alberta Climate Leadership Plan and development of the Carbon Competitiveness Incentive Regulation. Heather is also involved in two other key Climate Leadership Plan pillars, the oil sands emission limit and the 45% oil and gas methane reduction target.
