DESCRIPTION:Presenter: Denis Jubinville\, Branch Manager\, Waste Services\, City of Edmonton \n  \nAbout the presentation: The City of Edmonton remains focused on keeping waste out of landfills\, and Waste to Energy technology provides a cleaner energy source. By partnering with industry experts\, the City is adding value for ratepayers by diverting more waste from landfills using proven technology that has been successfully used for decade sin other parts of the world to generate electricity. \n  \nPresenter Bio: Denis became the Branch Manager of Waste Services at the City of Edmonton in July 2021. Before his current position\, Denis worked for the Edmonton Police Service and led the City of Edmonton’s Employee Relations and Compensation branch. With a human-centric approach to leadership\, and a growth and innovation mindset\, Denis is eager to champion waste industry initiatives that push the City of Edmonton towards the goal of 90% diversion set by the City’s 25-year Waste Strategy. By working with residents and organizations to reduce\, reuse\, and recycle waste\, the City is working to establish a waste system that benefits residents\, industries\, and the environment. \nCost: $40 – A&WMA Members / $50 – Non-Members / $15 –Students (includes hot lunch & coffee).
