DESCRIPTION:Presenter: Alain Moore\, Manager\, Brand and Marketing\, Pathways Alliance \nAbout the presentation: Formed in 2021\, Pathways Alliance represents Canada’s six largest oil sands companies working together – and with governments – on an ambitious emissions reduction plan to help meet the national 2050 net zero goal and deliver the world’s preferred barrel of responsibly produced oil. Hear about the work underway to address the climate challenge\, including a proposed carbon capture and storage network in northeastern Alberta. \nPresenter Bio: As the manager of brand and marketing\, Alain oversees the strategic advertising program of building awareness across Canada about the oil sands industry’s commitment to responsible development. This includes making demonstrable progress towards its goal of net-zero emissions from operations by 2050. \nAlain is currently on secondment from Suncor\, which is founding member of the Pathways Alliance and recently integrated Syncrude into its organization. He was previously Syncrude’s manager of Government and Public Affairs. In that\, role he oversaw issues management\, government relations and internal and external communications. He also supported stakeholder relations and community investment initiatives for the oil sands company based in Fort McMurray. \nHe holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alberta majoring in political science. He also has a diploma in print journalism from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. He lives in Edmonton with his wife\, Susan\, and their three children. DESCRIPTION:Presenter: Bryan Helfenbaun\, Clean Energy at Alberta Innovates\n \nPresenter Bio: Bryan Helfenbaum is the Associate Vice President of Clean Energy at Alberta Innovates\, where he oversees programs in Clean Technology and Advanced Hydrocarbons with key initiatives in hydrogen\, CCUS\, digital energy\, methane emissions reduction\, energy storage\, grid modernization\, critical minerals\, and bitumen beyond combustion.
