SUMMARY:EAVOR-LOOP'S COMMERCIALIZATION JOURNEY
DESCRIPTION:Presentation 1: Eavor (pronounced “Ever”) is a geothermal technology-based energy company led by a team dedicated to creating a clean\, reliable and affordable energy future on a global scale. Eavor’s solution (Eavor-Loop™) represents the world’s first truly scalable form of clean\, baseload and dispatchable power. Eavor will provide an overview of their development efforts to date\, which began with prototypes in Rocky Mountain House and New Mexico\, culminating with their first commercial project in Geretsried\, Germany. \nPresenter 1: Brian Senio\, Corporate Development/Government Relations\, Eavor \nBrian obtained his undergraduate degree from Concordia University of Edmonton\, majoring in political economy. In 2011\, upon graduation\, he commenced employment with Government Members Caucus Research and Communications\, supporting MLAs with communications and policy support. Between 2012 and 2015\, Brian worked as the Senior Policy Advisor to the Minister of Health\, Chief of Staff to the Associate Minister of Health\, and Senior Policy Advisor to the Finance Minister. He now supports Eavor Technologies with government and corporate affairs to promote geo energy applications at home and abroad. \n  \n Presentation 2: Defensible Data: Navigating the Accuracy of NO2 Measurements \nAbout the Presentation: Understanding atmospheric trace gases is vital for unravelling complex chemical processes and shaping effective control policies. Among these gases\, nitrogen dioxide (NO2) holds pivotal importance for several reasons. NO2 isn’t just a trace gas; it’s a lethal toxin affecting human health and ecological balance. Monitoring its levels is crucial for public safety and environmental stability. Additionally\, NO2 significantly impacts air quality and contributes to the formation of hazardous substances like ozone\, along with acid precipitation. \n  \nGlobal has been working on new innovations designed to bring certainty to NO2 measurement: \n\nFor the past two years we have been fortunate to work with the Fort Air Partnership on a co-locate application\,  collecting continuous field data for our Photolytic Converter (PhoNO). Unlike traditional heated metal converters \, the PhoNO exclusively converts NO2\, ensuring accurate reporting without biases and can be used for a variety of applications\, from ambient or roadside monitoring to scientific research.\nIn 2023\, Global began co-located studies with our patented dual channel NO2\, NOx\, NO analyzer with NOAA and the USEPA. Our CRDS instrument detects NO2 molecules with high precision and sensitivity\, but also offers continuous monitoring of nitrogen oxides (NOx)\, providing a comprehensive understanding of air quality dynamics.\n\n  \nPresenter 2: Dr. Charles Odame-Ankrah\, Principal Scientist\, Global Analyzer Systems Ltd.  \n  \nCost: $40 – A&WMA Members / $50 – Non-Members / $15 – Students (includes hot lunch & coffee). All prices include GST. CPANS is also pleased to offer this luncheon as an Online Webinar option. Individual webinar cost is $20. \nVenue: University Club of the University of Alberta \n11435 Saskatchewan Drive \nEdmonton\, Alberta\, T6G 2G9 \nRegister for this event with online registration and payment (there is an option for using a credit card) using the links below: \nMember Registration (40$) \nNon-member Registration (50$) \nStudent Registration (15$) \nSingle Webinar- Registration (20$) \nGroup Webinar Registration (80$) \n  \n
