Calgary January Luncheon

January 21 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

Title:

Is the Circular Economy the New Sustainability?

Speaker:

Jennifer Koole

Executive Director

Recycling Council of Alberta

About the Speaker:

Jennifer Koole is the Executive Director of the Recycling Council of Alberta, a non-profit organization with over 350 members whose mission is to advance the circular economy in Alberta. With a degree in environmental science, many years in municipal government, and international experience as a zero-waste consultant, Jennifer brings both technical insight and on-the-ground perspective to advancing the circular economy and waste reduction initiatives. She’s passionate about connecting people and ideas to drive collaboration, spark innovation, and help communities, businesses, and policymakers reimagine waste as a valuable resource in building a more sustainable future.

About the Presentation:

Join us over lunch to explore the question: Is the circular economy simply the next sustainability buzzword, or does it represent a real shift in how we design and manage systems? We’ll show how the circular economy isn’t replacing sustainability — it’s operationalizing it. You’ll also learn about the Recycling Council of Alberta, the initiatives we’re leading to advance the circular economy in Alberta, and how you can get involved.
